You all know how I feel about North and South (or you should by now). Richard Armitage as Mr. Thornton, the stern, extremely handsome, highly moral, hard-working mill owner is enough to make your heart melt. In other words, Richard Armitage is super awesome and smoking hot, especially in a cravat and fancy suits.
So imagine how excited I was to find out he was in the BBC TV series "Robin Hood." I was told of this series by both my mom and Rachel K., so I knew I'd like it, especially if it had hot Mr. Thornton in it. Guess what? He's not Robin Hood. He's not even Will Scarlet. He's Sir Guy of Gisborne. That's right. Slimy, creepy, evil Guy. And he is absolutely brilliant. You North and South fans out there, picture this: leather pants, mulletish greasy hair, shiny sword, and evil smirk on our beloved Mr. Thornton. Hey, let's not even use our imaginations. Here he is:

Yummy, right? In a totally different way than the other hot version of Richard Armitage. I watched seasons 1 and 2 on DVD because I wasn't fortunate enough to have BBC America until now. Season 3 just started, and his hair is longer and he's more evil and tormented than ever! He is, by far, the most complicated and interesting character in this show. Of course, this show is along the lines of Xena and Hercules in its ridiculousness, especially in season 1. But Guy is torn between ambition, greed, and a desire to please Maid Marian. And the Sheriff of Nottingham is hilarious and slightly effeminate. Robin Hood and his gang are great, of course, but I think I've spent time on what really matters. Netflix has it. I recommend it, if only to enjoy a little more of Richard Armitage.
Sidenote: I noticed on imdb that he is also a fighter pilot in Star Wars: Episode I, but after pausing and searching I still haven't identified him. He probably got killed in the first scene.

I love, love, love both of those shows! I'm curious to see what happens in season 3 with the drastic cast changes, but we won't be able to watch it until it comes out on DVD. Yea for the BBC!
