I've just started a Biggest Loser contest. I've been whining for the past 9 months about how fat I am, but I've been unwilling to do anything about it. (Sorry to my friends who've listened to my whining, and thanks for not slapping me. I totally deserved to be slapped.) Today was the first day of the contest. I've got to keep track of my calories, exercise, drink an enormous amount of water, and weigh in once a week. This morning I did my before pictures. I'm going to post them as a motivation to post better ones in 12 weeks when the competition ends.
I'm not going to tell you what my starting weight is, but I'll tell you my goals:
To lose 20 pounds.
To exercise daily without dragging my feet.
To look super cute in a dress, which I will purchase as soon as my body deserves a cute dress.
Here's my plan:
No more Pinterest. All those pictures of desserts is just making me want to eat.
Lots of gum.
Long walks pushing the kids in the stroller. (I did it with all 3 kids in the double jogger--it was super crowded--and it was a good workout for sure.)
Smoothies, smoothies, smoothies.
There you have it. I will post my after pictures in 12 weeks. Wish me luck! (I want to win! I could use some sweet cash for skinny girl clothes.)

Good for you! I think that's awesome!
Since Sawyer was born, I've lost 30 lbs., not counting baby weight. It took two rounds of a Biggest Loser-type family contest and Weight Watchers this summer. Of course, I lost 25, then gained 10 over the holidays and school year, then lost 15, so I haven't been perfect at it. Ten more pounds to go and I'll be at my goal weight. It's been such a learning process and I've had to change the ways I feel about food and exercise. Mainly I've learned to love exercise and not feel entitled to eat bad food. Making good food choices is an acquired skill, but so worth it.
One secret for Mike and me is frozen fruit. Whenever you're feeling peckish for something sweet, eat frozen peaches or blueberries or pineapple. If you have a Vitamix or equivalent, blend them up and then it feels like you're eating ice cream! It really helps with evening sweet cravings. Also bananas. Those babies are filling and at least with Weight Watchers they don't count towards your daily total.
Good luck! You can do it, my friend, and it's so worth it!
I totally need to do this! A bunch of ladies in my ward all had babies around the same time as me and all of them look fantastic and I still look like I just had a baby last week. Best of luck, I can't wait for the after pictures!
