Right now I should be doing the dishes and making dinner, but since Jacob won't let me step into the kitchen without asking me to look at one more thing on his computer, and Tyler wants to hang out in the dishwasher, I'm turning on Tinkerbell (I know they're boys--they like it, okay!) and writing a post about my favorite TV moments from the past week. Just as a warning, if your DVR is full of back episodes of these shows, wait to read this, because I'm all about spoilers.
Robin Hood:
Robin Hood:
I know most of you aren't following this show, but for those who are (Rachel K.), I am newly in love with Richard Armitage/Guy of Gisborne after Saturday's episode. His despair in prison, his unwilling aid to the maid in the next cell (like when he brushed the maggots off her bread and told her to suck on the stone around her neck), and ultimately, his tearful farewell as she lay dying in his arms were the best moments in the season. I was really glad I was alone while I was watching this episode (Tim took the opportunity to run to the basement and play computers), because by the end I was sobbing. Maybe it was partly because it was the end of a really crappy day, but I also attribute my wave of emotion to Richard Armitage's fine acting. Just a reminder of who he is:
If you have BBC America, I recommend you watch this show. It's fabulous. But first, rent seasons one and two from Netflix so you can enjoy the story's progression.
Biggest Loser:
She's gone, she's gone, la la la! Did anyone else jump for joy and skip around the house when Looney Bins Tracy got the boot? I know I did. I didn't shed a single tear, except maybe a few of joy. I got super annoyed by the five replays they did of her collapse on the beach. Blech. But the point is, no more Tracy until the finale. Woo hoo. Now if Shay could stop going on and on about herself and how much she deserves to be there, and lose a pound or two, I'll be gladder she's there. Right now, I'd love to see her go, even though she really needs it the most. Has anyone else noticed that this season the people that go home are doing a lot better than they have in the past? Tim even observed that, as much he dislikes Tracy, she looks fantastic.
Dancing With The Stars:
I know I'm a week late in writing about this, but did anyone else get chills when Donnie Osmond danced the Tango to Bad Medicine by Bon Jovi? You all know I have a special place in my heart for Bon Jovi, so I will automatically like anything that has to do with him that's even remotely decent (Jordan Sparks, your version of Living on a Prayer does not fit into that category--you CANNOT make the greatest rock anthem in history into an R&B song. EVER!). So I was bound to love his dance, even if he had tripped and fallen on his face and ruined the tango forever. But he rocked it, the band rocked it (Harold Wheeler, can I be in your band--I play a mean alto flute), and it was fabulous. Bruno, standing on the table and swinging your hips gave me nightmares. Let's rein it in. I'm hoping for a big win from Donny this season. I'm guessing if he makes it to the finals (which, let's face it, is going to happen, because he is from Utah, and they always do well), I doubt he'll dress up like a doll and lose any chance he has at a win.
So You Think You Can Dance:
I love Bollywood. Love it. I would be happy to see a Bollywood number every week. Also, I love the disco numbers. They defy gravity and make me wish I had the moves. Here are a few things I'm happy about so far: 1) Adam Shankman is a regular judge. He's got the drama but doesn't feel the need to yell everything he says (I mute Mary and can still hear her through my sound system). 2) Although Paula Abdul has a chair at the judges table, she hasn't shown up yet. Do we really need Paula and Mary? Yikes. 3) The dancers are fun this season. I don't know their names yet, thanks to the World Series and the lack of extra episodes, but I think it's going to be a good season.
Project Runway:
Tim Gunn. Always.
You may think that all I watched this past week is reality TV, but I just don't want to bore you with everything I loved about everything I watched. I always enjoy The Big Bang Theory, The Office, 30 Rock (okay, the little nod/jab at Susan Boyle was pretty hilarious), and House. I've also been watching little bits of My So-Called Life on DVD while working out, and I curse the producers every time for cancelling that show. Now you may think that all I do is watch TV. I don't. I watch while I do the dishes, fold laundry, sweep up the never-ending piles of crumbs under the table, and do crosswords online. So I'm not a total couch potato. And I only do all that while the kids are either napping or in bed for the night. I just stay up kind of late. Why am I justifying this? In case my mom makes it all the way through this post.

thanks for the eye candy
For the first time ever on your blog, I don't watch any of the shows you listed. I feel weird. Like something must be missing from my life. I need to watch more tv! Wait, no I don't.
And here I thought I was the only person in the universe that wasn't watching project runway. And Anne, you're welcome.
So on "So you think you can dance" have you seen Ryan and Ashleigh Di Lello? Ashleigh grew up in my ward! She is really good. Ashley and Ryan are married, but they were separated for the competition. I wasn't impressed with Ryan's performance last night, but all of his stuff before last night was really good. Hope he makes it through to next week!
BTW, how are you watching Dancing with the Stars, Biggest Loser and So You Think You Can Dance? They are all on ALL at the same time!
Now that Ben's out of town I can finish watching North and South for the umpteenth time. He has seen it, and likes it, but it makes good tv fare for when he is absent. Now I need to see Wives and Daughters...
