The joys of the season

I woke up this morning all snuggled in my warm blankets, feeling very cozy and content, which was a sure sign that it was snowing outside. And it was, and still is! For some reason I was having a hard time getting into the Christmas season, but waking up to the fluffy, fat snowflakes falling outside my windows really put me in the mood to celebrate! It also helped that it was already 7am and my baby was waking up for the first time since I put him in bed at 10:30 last night. A full night's sleep and a winter wonderland really inspire the Christmas spirit!

I also made a decision yesterday morning at the ward Christmas breakfast that worrying about calories and that post-pregnant belly can wait until January. There is so much good food at Christmas time, and if I'm sitting around thinking about how much fat is in that fudge, or the high calorie content in that caramel popcorn, I'll be cranky and miserable and miss out on one of the best parts of the season! Going to a Christmas party and sticking only to the veggie tray is a bummer, and besides, the hostess put a lot of work into those cookies, so I had better give them a try!

Also, thanks to all those super people who managed to get wreaths and lights and inflatable snowmen up at their house. I really enjoy running errands when I have houses like that to drive past. Ours is not one of those houses this year. We managed to get up our tree and stockings, but the outside of our house is a little on the Scroogey side. So, thank you, neighbors, for all your hard work to make our street look colorful and festive. Next year we'll join you.

Merry Christmas, y'all. I'm off to eat a mint truffle Hershey's kiss. Yummers.

AMEN Rachel...amen! There is too much good food around this time of year to worry, especially if you already have plenty to lose already...which is my case, once again. If I'm gonna start I might as well wait when I'm not going to have to make the hostess/baker feel bad because I didn't try their yummy treats. I wouldn't want to do that!

I wish it would snow here, but alas, it just rains...and rains...and rains. Actually, we are suppose to have weather in the 70's this week. I miss the snow, but at least it's not bitterly cold!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Wish we could be there of the party!

Exactly my sentiments! Which is why weight watchers has been suspended until January!

We woke up to a winter scene ourselves today. Hope you enjoy it more than I do. Can't wait to catch up later next week!

I unfortunately have not enjoyed the winter scene and remembered why I love the south during the winter. Not bitter cold. Oh well, we are enjoying seeing family and friends this year and next year I will probably miss it!

I woke up to a winter scene too. There was loads of snow...on the mountains. Where it belongs. And I put on my warmest coat because it was 50 degrees outside. What is this, the tundra?

I'm in complete agreement about Christmas treats. Don't they say we're suppose to enjoy the gifts of the season? And if cookies aren't a gift then I don't know what are.
