I am in a bit of a blogging funk, if you haven't noticed. I'm in a bit of a regular funk as well. So I'm calling on you readers for topics. Is that pathetic or what?
For now, I'll just tell you a little bit about a book I just finished reading. "The Graveyard Book," by Neil Gaiman (author of "Stardust," "Coraline," and a bunch of others), is aimed at 12 to 16-year-olds. Maybe. I'm not sure. It was intriguing and a little creepy and captivated me so that I read it very quickly. (Plus, I had to read it fast because I needed to move onto "Warbreaker," by Brandon Sanderson, which is due soon and can't be renewed, due to the many holds on it.) Here's the rundown: A family is murdered, but the mysterious villain cannot locate the youngest child, who has slipped from his crib and wandered into the graveyard down the street. The bad guy is foiled from killing the baby, and the baby is given protection by the ghosts in the graveyard. It is a very unique story, which is refreshing, to be sure. There is a nice mix of humor and suspense, which kept me interested in what could have been a boring 100 pages. The boy experiences several little adventures, which were fun, but frustrated me a bit. I kept wondering when we would get back to the murder plot. Overall, though, it was an interesting read, and I would recommend it if you're looking for something a little strange and not overly deep for the weekend.
That's all I've got for today. Suggestions, please!

I got this from the library a few months back but by the time I got around to reading it I only had a day left before it was due and someone had a hold on it. (Library Hold: blessing and curse) I made it to the baby making it into the graveyard.
As far as recommendations: I think you should do a weekly play by play on Project Runway. Wait, do you watch Project Runway? I can't remember. If you don't YOU SHOULD!!!! Sorry to yell that, but I love it so much. I want to be best friends with Tim Gunn. It starts tonight on Lifetime. I was thinking about skipping enrichment to watch it but we're etching our names on all of our Pyrex dishes. Is this the rage enrichment activity up there? Because it is down here.
Hmmm...you should start your memoirs via blog. Funny and tragic stories from the life of Rachel! Guess what is coming in the mail? North and South thanks to your suggestion, I can't wait!
Rachel, after I read your comment, I turned on the TV and found out they were doing a Project Runway marathon on Oxygen, so I watched all of season 4. I had never watched it before, but you're right, I SHOULD!!! I love Tim Gunn. He's like a gay fatherly type that just makes everyone feel better. And his voice is hypnotic. And Angela, I'm going to do a play-by-play like Rachel suggested for you, because you got rid of cable, and I know you like that show. I will also slip in tragic and funny stories about my life in between. Thanks for the suggestions, both of you.
